Experienced Runners: Under-pronation = Heel pain. HELP!?

I'm more of a cyclist than a runner, but have been training for a triathlon. By looking at the wear on my shoes, it seems that I am turning my left foot out (there is significant wear by the toes and ball of my foot) which is causing heel pain. My right foot/heel are fine and the tread wear isn't nearly as bad – How can I stop my left foot from turning out and end this pain?
